(project description)

INT. The National Theatre, Torshov Theatre, Oslo, 17. April - 15. May, 2004

A performance based on the classic fairy tale of Cinderella, looking at young girls desire for love. Cinderella was performed by Marte Wexelsen Goksøyr. Marte was twenty two and has Down’s syndrome. Whilst the fairy tale was being performed on stage, Marte's own life story was told, written by Marte herself. Sharing the stage, were also dancers, dancing to well known 80’s/90's pop songs, performed live by Swedish-Norwegian band; Hello Goodbye. The flexible theatre space had a stone floor, a red velvet curtain, a balcony and stuffed animals.
